The number of consecutive years you qualify for either the participating life bonus or the non-participating life bonus determines your bonus factor. Your bonus factor is multiplied by your net FYC in 2025 to determine your bonus payout in February 2026.
We’ll look at historical data to determine if you met the qualifications over the past 5 years. This determines your bonus factor. If you met the qualifications in each of the past 5 years, your bonus factor is 35%. If you met it in each of the past 3 years, your bonus factor is 25%.
The maximum annual bonus payout is $70,000 per year – $35,000 for the par bonus and $35,000 for the non-par bonus.

- 7 par policies with a net FYC of $19,500 in 2024
- 9 par policies with a net FYC of $25,450 in 2023
Claude’s participating life insurance bonus will be calculated as follows:

- His bonus calculation $35,500 x .25 = $8,875

- 5 term policies and 2 universal life policies with a net FYC of $13,500 in 2024

- His bonus factor will be 20% because he met the minimum of 7 policies placed each year for the past two years with a net FYC of over $10,000 each year.
- His bonus calculation $12,000 x .20 = $2,400.

To be eligible for the bonuses you must have a compliant practice. Your primary obligation is to advise clients in their best interest and to ensure the fair treatment of your clients. These bonuses shouldn’t cause you to promote or sell a product that doesn’t meet your clients’ needs.
When you’re compliant, you protect yourself and your clients, and you strengthen the value of your practice. It’s the right way to conduct business.
